Home Care Assistant

About the Role

Serene Path Care is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Home Care Assistant to join our growing team in Nairobi. In this role, you will provide essential daily care to elderly persons, individuals with disabilities, and post-operative patients in the comfort of their own homes.

As a Home Care Assistant, you will be the face of Serene Path Care — your work directly shapes the quality of life for our clients and gives their families peace of mind. We are looking for individuals who are patient, reliable, and genuinely passionate about caring for others.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Provide medication reminders and ensure adherence to prescribed health routines
• Prepare nutritious meals and assist clients with feeding as required
• Support client mobility including transfers, walking assistance, and exercise routines
• Provide companionship, emotional support, and meaningful social engagement
• Carry out light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment
• Monitor and report changes in client health or behaviour to the Care Coordinator
• Maintain accurate daily care records and activity logs
• Communicate regularly and professionally with client families

Requirements

• Certificate or Diploma in Nursing, Community Health, or a related field (preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a home care, hospital, or community care setting
• Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate, patient nature
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to upholding client dignity and privacy
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good verbal communication skills in English and Swahili
• Valid national ID and clear background check
• Ability to commute to client locations across Nairobi
